M7 Real Estate’s Claire McDowell appointed as next Chairperson of Nexus, Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland’s Young Professional Network

Nexus, a crucial platform for young surveyors to connect with the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), has announced the appointment of M7 Real Estate’s Claire McDowell, as its next Chairperson.

Nexus aims to support aspiring surveyors in their early careers and promote inclusivity within the real estate industry in Ireland.

As the newly elected Chairperson, Claire’s aim will be to strengthen Nexus’s role in facilitating networking opportunities and knowledge sharing among professionals across the real estate sectors, whilst also promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the real estate industry. By bridging the gap between emerging talent and seasoned experts, Claire will help to create a collaborative environment where young surveyors can learn, grow, and receive valuable support on their journey towards becoming chartered professionals.

Beyond networking and professional development, Claire has expressed her commitment to championing charitable causes during her tenure as Chairperson. She intends to focus on fundraising efforts to support homeless initiatives, recognizing the pressing need to address homelessness in Ireland. By leveraging the Nexus platform, Claire aims to mobilize resources and raise awareness to make a tangible impact on tackling homelessness in the country.

Claire is an asset manager for M7 Real Estate, the pan-European investor and asset manager specialised in multi-tenanted properties with €500 million assets under management in Ireland. Claire joined M7 in June 2023 and is focused on optimising the performance and maximising the value and returns of the portfolio of assets which M7 manages in Dublin. Before joining M7, Claire worked as an Investment Surveyor at JLL. Claire is a member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and received a post graduate masters in real estate from TU Dublin earlier this year.

Commenting on her appointment, Claire said: “As the newly elected Chairperson of the Nexus Committee, I am looking forward to supporting the next generation of real estate professionals on their journey. One of my main goals will be to encourage people from diverse backgrounds to consider a career in the sector, creating a more inclusive and diverse community of professionals.”
