M7 Real Estate Appoints John Murnaghan to Head Investment Management Client Relations

18th August 2014 – M7 Real Estate, has appointed John Murnaghan as a senior director to oversee relations with its joint venture partners and to develop the company’s third-party investment management business in the UK.

Murnaghan, 37, joins M7 from UBS Global Real Estate, where he was the lead asset manager for the U.K. property team and one of the portfolio managers of the Triton Property Fund. Prior to joining UBS in 2007, Murnaghan spent six years as a senior asset manager in the corporate real estate group at Land Securities Trillium. He is a chartered surveyor and did his graduate studies in the UK and his native Ireland.

Richard Croft, M7’s Chief Executive, said: “Adding John’s wealth of institutional experience will provide a fresh impetus to the disciplined and rigorous approach that we take to the investments M7 owns and manages. He beefs up our capabilities as we expand rapidly from the U.K. into other key western European markets to seize the opportunities that we see there”.

Founded in 2009, M7 has more than doubled its staff to 58 people in the past year as it opened offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Glasgow and Warsaw. The expansion to M7’s platform stems from the joint ventures it formed with H.I.G. Capital, Oaktree Capital Management and Starwood Capital Group to invest in continental European markets. In the UK, the company moved into a new headquarters building earlier this month in London’s up-and-coming Bankside district.

John Murnaghan said: “M7 is a dynamic and innovative business that is going places as investors look for experienced and skilled partners in the specialist sector of higher-yielding, multi-let light industrial real estate. I am tremendously pleased to be joining the team at such an exciting time in its development”.
